Boston, MA –– Boston has been without rain for 28 days straight. According to The National Weather Service rain is expected on Thursday night, ending the dry stretch.
Some visitors in Boston Common said that the lack of rainfall was apparent. Grace Gill, who was visiting from Scotland, said the dry stretch seemed worrying.
“We noticed when we came here actually that the grass was all dry and we wondered if it hadn’t rained in a long time…It is pretty concerning.”
But other Boston residents, like Victoria Kleiner, have welcomed the nice weather.
“It’s been really nice, I’ve been enjoying it outside. And not having to use an umbrella has been nice” said Kleiner.
Kleiner said she did not notice that there has not been rain in a while.
This dry stretch is Boston’s longest in nearly 25 years. The National Weather Service predicts rain from tropical storms in the southern United States will be traveling up the coast, reaching New England by the end of the week.
Boston’s Most Dangerous Intersection
(Pedestrian waits to cross Boylston Street)

Boston, MA– The intersection of Boylston and Tremont is the most dangerous in Boston.
Nearly 3000 cars pass through the intersection daily, and four pedestrians have been hit in the past week.
The city has considered making the intersection safer by adding longer crosswalk times.
But for pedestrians like Meg Boucher, it’s still not enough.
“I think it’s absolutely ridiculous the city should be doing more to protect its pedestrians,” Boucher said.
For Boucher, there is a much bigger danger on the streets.
“I think the biggest menace on the street is door dash drivers on their motorcycles,” said Boucher.
The Boston City Council will meet November 15th to discuss implementing new safety measures.
